Devinn Lane Sues Digital Playground, Vivid, Others in Alleged Domain Name Conspiracy

I thought I’d share this after finding something interesting going on with my stage name, Desi Foxx. If you’ve been to desifoxx.net, you may have found that the site has nothing to do with me even though they are using my name. It is actually a fake site using several pornstars names to redirect our fans to their site. All the ownership information is private and there is no contact or webmaster information either. This is illegal.

When you go to this site, you can’t even see what you’re subscribing to. There is no one to contact to ask questions. But if you click on the 2257 link, you’ll find several well known companies involved in this misuse of our names. It’s next on my list to discuss with our attorney. The things that go on here never fail to amaze me!

Check out the story below to see what the large companies in this Biz have been up to. This is what’s wrong with Porn these days. Ummmm . . . How desperate must these people be to stoop to these levels?? Stealing from the same girls they call crazy porn whores. We’re so crazy, they have to steal our names to get ahead of us. Yeah right!! And these are well known companies too.

LOS ANGELES — Xbiz.com reports that Devinn Lane filed a lawsuit last week against a number of adult entertainment and digital media companies. Lane’s suit alleges they profited from domain names similar to her performer name.

According to the story, the suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. It charges that Vivid Entertainment Group, Digital Playground, Domains by Proxy, Dotster and Moniker Online Services, among others, used variations of her performer name in setting up domain names such as DevinnLaneXXX.com, Devinn-Lane.com and DevinnLaneCash.com without compensation.

Lane also alleges that in some of the cases the companies conspired with each other to divert traffic to adult websites that they own.

Lane’s suit claims that Domains by Proxy registered DevinnLaneXXX.com more than three years ago without Lane’s consent. Later said she discovered that the site redirected to www.kim1.vivid.com, a website owned by Vivid.

“In January, the suit claims, the site stopped redirecting to that site and became a parked page that is owned by Delaware-based Dotster,” continues the story.

“A month later, the parked page started redirecting to DigitalPlayground.com, which lasted only one month, after which it became another parked page, which it continues today.

The suit also targets Privacy Protect, the owner of DevinnLaneCash.com, as well as Florida-based Moniker which owns Devinn-Lane.org and DevinnLane.org. It also targets Pixel, a Hawaii company, which allegedly owns Devinn-Lane.com.

“Plaintiffs are informed and believe that defendants are using [Lane’s trademark] deliberately and intentionally in order to drive consumers to the infringing sites and other websites and to capture and trade on the goodwill and notoriety of the [trademark],” the suit said.

Attorney Michael Fattorosi, www.adultbizlaw.com represents Lane.

With the trademark infringement and cybersquatting charges, Lane is asking for injunctions over the use of the domain names and actual damages that include potential treble damages, as well as attorneys fees.
