FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Allen County Prosecutor’s Office charged a man Wednesday with battery and strangulation after an incident with porn star and Fort Wayne native, Rachel Oberlin, known professionally as Bree Olson.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed in Allen Superior Court, Oberlin, who was once involved with actor, Charlie Sheen, told police the incident started with an argument between her and Johnathan R. Underwood, 27, when they arrived at her home on January 12.

Oberlin said during the course of the argument, Underwood pushed her up against a car and grabbed her around the neck, so much so that she could not breathe and almost passed out. He then let her go and left the area.

Police later found him at his apartment and took him into custody.

Underwood allegedly told Fort Wayne police that Oberlin was hitting him and he ‘just lost it’ and pushed her against the car and grabbed her neck in an effort to get her to stop.

Responding officers said they took photos of Oberlin’s injuries, which were a cut on the top or her right hand, finger marks around her neck and a black right eye. Police said Underwood did not have any visible injuries or complaints of pain.

Underwood is scheduled for an initial hearing in Allen Superior Court on Monday, January 23.

Porn goddess, first-time AVN host Bree Olson quitting adult-film world

Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 | 3:46 p.m.

Surprisingly, maybe even shockingly, adult-film actress Bree Olson is treating Saturday night’s AVN Awards as her swan song to the porn industry. The former Charlie Sheen “goddess” who partied with him at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens in the Paris says it will be her adult-career farewell after 220 flicks — and her way of saying thank you to her fellow actors, actresses and filmmakers.

The 25-year-old former Penthouse Pet started in porn in November 2006 and became a contract starlet with Adam & Eve from 2007 to 2010. She’s not only known as being Charlie’s sidekick through his “Tiger Blood” tour, but also for appearing on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” in which she was hired as a nanny but fired by mom Kris Jenner on her first day because of her skimpy wardrobe and behavior.

At previous AVN Awards, she has won 12 awards, including New Starlet, Best Female Performer and Favorite Female. As she began shopping for her gowns for Saturday night’s festivities and packing for the trip to Las Vegas, she talked with me about her career, life with and without Charlie and her hopes for the future.

Robin Leach: After all this time, it’s your first as host — and yet it’s a goodbye?

Bree Olson: Yes, but I’m really excited. I left the industry abruptly, so I’m pleased to have a proper farewell to the adult industry and give a proper thank you. I feel hosting the awards show is a great way to do that. I’m also going to be signing at the expo so, I thought it was a great way to see my fans and do a final signing in that way.

R.L.: Why did you decide this is the final go-out goodbye party?

B.O.: This is a great way for me to say thank you and farewell. I’m trying to transition into mainstream and just trying to evolve my acting career. I don’t have anything against the adult career at all. I have nothing bad to say about it at all, or else I wouldn’t be hosting, but now I want to completely focus on one thing, and I just feel that chapter of my life is over. I’m 25 now. Porn was something I did when I was young and just having fun. I’m evolving as a person.

R.L.: Does evolving mean growing up or just coming to your senses?

B.O.: No, not necessarily coming to my senses … I knew exactly what I was doing. Just trying something new, doing something different, ever-changing, I suppose.

R.L.: How tough is it to make the transition? Just how difficult will it be to cross over?

B.O.: I don’t know. It’s different opinions with everyone who has made a full transition. There are girls that were not well known in the adult industry who got into Hollywood mainstream — a lot of people don’t know about that. It’s not that I used porn as a steppingstone, it’s just that it’s something that I was always interested in — it’s just something that I want to try. I’m putting forth all my effort into it, I’m doing the acting classes, I’m getting a mainstream agent and doing all the proper things, so I hope it works out.

R.L.: Just for the sake of having fun and a little bit of laughter, can you give me a title of an X-rated movie that you last did and the title of the first mainstream thing that you’ve done.

B.O.: I went from “Bree’s College Days” into a comedy-horror flick called “Purgatory Comics.”

R.L.: Was there a defining moment where you said enough of X-rated, or was it a gradual process?

B.O.: There was definitely a moment. When I started dating Charlie, I never did adult pictures again. Charlie asked me not to, and I respect whoever I’m dating at the time, so there was a very long grace period that I had without doing any films. After 6 months or so after we stopped dating, I decided to go back and do it again.

I went into the testing center because porn actors must be tested before making each movie. I just kind of stood there and I was, like, you know what? I don’t want to do this anymore. This is not what I want to do. And I just remember a few weeks before that, I had been looking in the mirror, and I had just been rehearsing lines, and that’s where my passion lies now. I was, like, why am I not doing what I’m most passionate about?

R.L.: How long were you Charlie’s goddess?

B.O.: It was under the radar for a long time. People didn’t find out about us until actually AVN last year at the Palms. I had asked him if he would fly into Vegas because he had flown in a few times to my home in Indiana. I had seen him in L.A. and then Vegas, but he decided to stay in Vegas and party, and that’s when it all came out.

R.L.: That was the weekend of the week where the party never ended? And the two of you became more girls?

B.O.: Eventually, the third one came along. It started, just he and I. It wasn’t a wild weekend for us, it was a nice evening, and then I left the next morning, but he stayed and partied it out. It was exactly 12 months ago in Vegas when we became public. Crazy to think about, gosh. My life really changed, and now 12 months later, it’s really, really changed. An unbelievable year — 2011 was just a year I feel that will always be frozen in time for me. It just flew by so fast. I hope 2012 goes a lot slower.

Charlie and I were really steady there for a while, and then I left when we were on tour. It wasn’t a bad break. It hadn’t run its course. It wasn’t even about Charlie. It was everything surrounding Charlie, all the media, lawyers, business people. When I had first started dating him, there wasn’t any of that going on: He was still doing “Two and a Half Men.”

There wasn’t all this “winning” and “tiger’s blood” and all that. None of that had started yet, but when it did, I tried to stick through it. However, I’m not the kind of person to want to be involved in all that chaos, so I was, like, OK, it’s time for me to go. I was waiting for it to end, but it was a never-ending show of the “Charlie Sheen-ness.”

I love Charlie, but just in that way. Charlie and I are still friends. I just couldn’t handle that whirlwind at that time. I’m friends with all my exes; I’m a good ex-girlfriend.

R.L.: After the AVN Awards at the Hard Rock, what’s the target — what are your goals?

B.O.: I’m making a full move to L.A., and I’ve signed up for my acting classes. I’m going to work with my mainstream agent and network a lot. I have an apartment in the valley, and I’m going to move closer to Hollywood so I’m around it all the time, to live and breathe acting every day.

I’m really excited because I really have grown out of Indiana and the porn industry. In L.A., no one’s going to care. It will be nice because it’s not going to be about me. I’m kind of sick of that living and working from Indiana.

R.L.: Do you think you will face a tough road and that it will be difficult to change over?

B.O.: It’s already been difficult, but now the reactions are different. In adult, everything was handed to me because once the name “Bree Olson” was established, I automatically got jobs — I didn’t have to go for “auditions.” I just automatically got everything, which is why I was able to stay home in Indiana, fly to L.A., work two weeks, fly back home, go back out there, back and forth.

There was nothing to think about. Mainstream is obviously a lot more work. I have to go out and dedicate myself full time to it, but I love the challenge. I’m ready for something like that. … I’m ready to work toward challenges again — it’s nice to have a goal.

R.L.: So how will fans see you dressed for your last AVN night?

B.O.: It has been a disaster. I live in Indiana, so there isn’t really any shopping going on here for that! The closest city to me is Chicago, 3 hours away so, I’ve been trying to shop online. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find dresses online — it’s only prom dresses.

I’m only 5’3” and 120 pounds and last year 110 . The years are backwards — I should be at 110 to host! But it’s not even that. It just that every dress is a prom dress. You type in awards dresses, evening dresses … . You’re so lucky to be a guy, that’s all I have to say. You guys really lucked out overall.

So I m still shopping until the last minute. I texted Sunny Leone, my co-host, and asked her what dress she would wear because I want to wear a red dress. I think that would look really pretty because I’m blonde, but she said she was away in India, and so neither one of us has our dresses, and it’s just days away. We better come up with something!

I found a few good ones online. I’m a simple girl. I remember a few years ago, all the girls were on the infamous red carpet getting interviewed, and people asked them who’s your dress, what designer? I said I didn’t know because I got it at a wedding shop in Indiana. I’m that kind of girl — one dress through the evening, I thought. Sunny said she’s going to wear three dresses, so now I gotta find not one but three dresses for it.

R.L.: How did you get into this business in the first place, that you’re now getting out of?

B.O.: I just looked it up on the Internet. I wanted to do porn, so I typed in porn applications and this Web site came up, and I put up my picture and said I want to do porn. People called me. I flew out to L.A.; I quit school and quit my job. I was pre-med biology full time at Purdue University and working as a telemarketer. I simply loved sex a lot. I have kinks and fetishes and I like to play them out in real life instead of just fantasizing about them, so porn was one of them that I just decided to do.

I literally would have done the first few films for free. I didn’t have to be paid, but then I found out how lucrative it was. I’m a hard worker and stayed with it. Why not do something I love and get paid for it. I didn’t think it would last as long as it did. I didn’t think I’d become a necessity, like people wanted me so much, but they did, so I was cool with it. You guys want me, and I’ll stick around and keep giving you what you want, and it worked out great.

R.L.: Is it all as fun as it looks to those who follow you?

B.O.: It’s overrated because there’s a lot of waiting around on sets and you have to sit in makeup, but what you see on the camera is the best part of the day for sure. The action is great — there’s no doubt about that — but it’s surrounded by long days. If it’s a feature movie, it can be a long week or a long month — some movies take a long time.

I don’t look back with any regrets, and I look forward to all the opportunities ahead of me. If I didn’t go through what I have, I wouldn’t be who I am today, and I wouldn’t change that for the world.
