A vintage railway operator has been branded “disgusting” after allowing a hardcore porn film to be shot on its historic train track.

Parents have slammed the decision to allow American adult film company, Brazzers, to shoot a 28-minute film on the Epping Ongar Railway – a heritage railway in Essex.

The film – which includes a brunette woman dressed in school uniform having sex on a train – has already been viewed more than 235,000 times.

The footage has come to attention of fuming locals just days before hundreds of children flock to the railway for their annual Easter egg hunt.

Amanda Mendel, a mother-of-two from Ongar, Essex, said: “They advertise it as a family-based business but one minute it’s Peppa Pig and Father Christmas and the next it’s an orgy train.

“You can’t stop businesses doing what they want but it doesn’t seem right.

“It makes you wonder what went on in the train.

“If you are advocating something as a business for families you can’t do that – it’s not on, I am mortified.

“As a mother, I would be reluctant to take my kids on there again knowing that has gone on.

“I think it’s disgusting.”

The Epping Ongar Railway was first opened in 1865 and was run by London Underground from 1949 until passenger services were withdrawn in 1994.

It is now run predominantly by volunteers and has previously provided the backdrop for Halifax, Natwest, Barclays, BBC iPlayer and Flybe adverts.

It has also provided the setting for music videos for Boy George, Kim Wilde and Liberty X – although many users were unaware the train line had been used to film adult material.

The world’s best nostalgic rail journeys

On their website, the railway say they pride themselves on there “can do” attitude and state: “No matter how diverse your requirements are, we can help.”

Carla Ince, 41, from Chipping Ongar, added: “It’s disgusting and a stupid decision.

“You don’t want to associate somewhere you take children on days out, that promotes the link between Ongar and Epping and is a site of local history with something like that.

“How can they have that in the same place as fun kids’ events?

“They do so much to promote the railway and do history, Easter and Christmas things there – I think it’s a poor decision.”

Bosses at the railway have now been forced to apologise for what they described as ‘an error of judgement’.

Dean Walton, business development manager at Epping Ongar Railway, said: “We have made the railway available for commercial hire on a number of occasions to generate money for our projects and running the trains.

“Earlier this year we took a decision to allow an adult film, subject to certain conditions, to be filmed on the railway.

“We are sorry that our decision may have caused offence. It is clear that this decision was an error of judgement.

“We can confirm that we have put in place a policy to refuse any further approaches for this kind of production.”
