PITFALLS OF PORN: Charlie Sheen’s Ex Warns off Girls from Porn Career, ‘People will Treat you Differently for the Rest of Your Life’

  • She has starred in more than 280 pornographic movies

In an open letter posted to Twitter, Bree Olsen discourages women from taking part in pornography whilst actively encouraging their male counterparts.

‘To all the young women thinking about doing porn,’ Olson begins, ‘I didn’t find Jesus. I don’t hate porn. I didn’t have any bad experiences. But trust me when I tell you not to do it.’

Ambition: Olson she had wanted to be a porn star since she was young, and only waited until she was 19 because she had been in a four-year relationship until that point.

She has a clear message for young women: If you do it, you will be judged according to society’s harsh double standard when it comes to women and sex.

Olsen (real name: Rachel Oberlin) explains the reason for not doing porn is not because it’s bad but because of how people treat women when they find out that they’ve done porn – an unfair stigma that follows women for the rest of their lives, even long after they’ve left the industry.

‘Porn isn’t bad — how people will treat you for the rest of your life is,’ she writes.

The letter points out, there’s also a lot of sexism in the way people treat porn stars, too, and predictably, women are not treated the same as their male costars.

‘As for the guys — don’t worry — you’ll get a high five and everyone will just assume you have a huge d**k with lots of stamina.’

Olson’s note is a reminder of the struggle many porn stars face during and after their careers: They’re judged by friends, family and society at large — despite the fact that many of those doing the judging are likely consumers of the product.
